What Are Scripture Creatures?
Scripture creatures is an imaginative approach to biblical meditation for the child in everyone. Think bible-themed Pokemon cards, but so much more. Every card is strategically designed to simplify complex biblical concepts for kids, condense rich theology into imaginative creature designs, and, activate children’s imaginations to ground God’s truth deep in their hearts in a way they’ll never forget.
If you have little children in your life and you want to help them get excited about God’s word, this is the perfect teaching tool for you adults.
This project was birthed out of a vision to see kids love God's word and understand the depths of Scripture. I saw a need and so I started developing this idea a bit more. It was very organic and Spirit-led.
Each of these creatures embodies a key idea or biblical theme in a specific book or story in the Bible. The name and design of the creature revolves around that main idea.
Each creature is assigned an elemental power like fire, water, earth air, which represents a broader biblical theme. There are 8 of these broader themes that run throughout the Bible. For example, water represents new creation, earth represents the image of God theme, fire represents the sacred presence of God.
These broader biblical themes are the bigger ideas in the Bible that every other idea/theme fits under. That might sound confusing, but I promise it's really simple.

The Vision: Where This Is Going
So far I'm still in the development phase of this project, but I do have the first set of creatures done for the Jonah story. That is a total of 35 cards, which will be released as a pilot set very soon, along with digital tools for parents to know how to use these cards to help their children learn to love Scripture.
The vision is to eventually develop 'scripture creature' sets based on famous bible stories to show how stories and themes connect across the entire Bible. In fact, there's one card I'm releasing in the Jonah collection that will be a sneak peek into the Noah collection.
The image further up demonstrates the idea of God's rescue instrument which can be seen in many other bible stories. This same creature would take on a slightly different "story form" in the Noah story, or any other stories where we see this idea.
By seeing this same creature and idea throughout other bible stories, children will be learning how to trace key themes and biblical truths throughout the Bible. They will begin to notice consistencies. My goal is to teach kids how to meditate on the Scriptures in a fun and imaginative way. I want parents to have a fun tool to use to engage their children with the Scriptures, and this will even help parents/grandparents to learn the Bible in a fun way.
